The Empty Tomb of the Lord

Sermon Text: Luke 24:1-12

Theme: The gospel of Jesus Christ calls for His people to believe that He has risen from the dead to new life in fulfillment of His promises.

Structure/points:   The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ is not a take-it-or-leave-it doctrine, but something which everything else in the Christian faith points to and is derived from.  Christ Himself pointed to the importance of the resurrection during His earthly ministry, and the words of Scripture continue to proclaim that He is risen and lives now and forever after. Today, we examine Luke’s account of the First Easter Sunday and see…

  2. The reason for the empty tomb
  3. The reaction to the empty tomb
