Sermon Text: 1 Samuel 16:1-13
Theme: God’s choice to anoint the son of Jesse as king reveals that He clearly sees what man cannot perceive
Structure/points: Despite Saul’s rebellion, the Lord did not rejected Israel forever, nor did He allow his people to be led by a turncoat for all time. He had one final mission for Samuel, to anoint a new king for the Lord. And despite his age and experience, Samuel would learn an important lesson through this last great task. As we study this passage, I pray that the Lord our God will show us the wisdom of His choice as we examine…
- God’s provision
- Samuel’s misjudgment
- The king’s identity
