Confessing Historic Reformation Christianity: Salvation by Grace Alone, Through Faith Alone, in Christ Alone, Founded on Scripture Alone, for the Glory of God Alone.

Remember, He Saved Us!

Sermon Text: Titus 3:1-7

Theme:  The Christian must show every kindness to every person because he has been saved from all his sins by the merciful, unmerited kindness of the Lord through Jesus Christ.

Structure/points:  If you are familiar with Titus 3:5, then you know it is one of those simple yet crucial verses that clearly teaches us our salvation.  We often hear it quoted in sermons or see it referenced in books.  But in what context does this well-loved verse appear?  It was written in the context of reminding the reader both of what the Gospel is and what it teaches us to do.  Even if we have been Christians for many years, we need to hear the three reminders that Paul gives us in Titus 3:1-7.

  1. The reminder to respect all one’s neighbors
  2. The reminder of what God has done
  3. The reminder of our inheritance
