Sermon Text: Titus 3:8-11
Theme: The Church of Jesus must insist upon the trustworthy, profitable doctrine of God, lest unnecessary, worthless teachings divide and corrupt those who have believed in the Lord.
Structure/points: There are many theological and doctrinal topics that could theoretically be set before the Church. But not every teaching is worthwhile or profitable. The whole church needed to discern what lessons and doctrines were actually useful for the people of God and teach those things, those and those alone. To that end, Paul had three pieces of instruction for Titus to consider.
