Sermon Text: 1 Samuel 22:6-23

Theme:  Because of his hatred of God and His anointed, Saul unleashed a murderous fury against the people of the Lord for their lack of support for his evil intentions.    

Structure/points:  For the past several months, we’ve seen Saul’s rebellion against the Lord growing.  We’ve seen him attempt to murder David and even his own son for supporting David. But in 1 Sam. 22, he dropped to a new, unthinkable level of depravity.  Hatred for God and a settled refusal to submit to Him led to the tragedy of this passage.  With confidence in the Lord’s sovereignty even over these terrible events, we will read of…
