Sermon Text: 1 Kings 1:1-31
Theme: The vow of the Lord assures those who look to Him that He will surely set a righteous king upon the throne of His people
Structure/points: When David’s life drew near to its end, there came need for a successor to his throne. But a new threat arose at the time of David’s decline, one intent on preventing Solomon’s rise. Even so, the Lord is God, the same yesterday, today, and forever into the future. That means that the word of the Lord stands forever unchanged and irrevocable. The trustworthy, steadfast word of the Lord reigned supreme over the machinations and plots of men to ensure that His choice of king would succeed David to his throne.
