Sermon Text: Luke 2:1-21
Theme: When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the Savior of sinners entered into the world, bringing glory to God and peace to His people through the redemptive work He would accomplish.
Structure/points: The Christmas story is a familiar one, but it is nonetheless of vital importance. Our faith hangs on the truth that Luke 2:1-21 proclaims. Jesus was born in Bethlehem to be the Savior of His people, according to the Word of God. Even if we know this, it is good for believers to reflect anew on the birth of the Christ. As we read the Christmas story once again, may the Lord be pleased to give us fresh appreciation, love, and joy in the Savior who has come to us. We’ll study these things in three points:
- Jesus’ birth
- The angel’s announcement
- The shepherds’ response
