The Servant of God

Sermon Text: Titus 1:1-4

Theme: The Lord calls His pastoral servants to minister to His elect people so that, by the preaching of His word, they may have their faith, knowledge, and hope nurtured.

Structure/points:  Paul has been placed in the role of an apostle and pastor not by his own choice, or that of any other man, but according to the express decision of God Himself.  As we hear the introduction of Paul’s letter to Titus preached, we will learn something of the nature of pastoral ministry.

  2. The hope of pastoral ministry
  3. The charge of pastoral ministry
