Text: 1 Corinthians 1:18-25
Theme: The scandalous nature of the cross of Christ exposes and challenges the wisdom of the world and calls us to embrace the foolishness of God.
Structure/points: First, we will reflect on how the Romans, Greeks and Jews viewed crucifixion to help us understand the shocking nature of the gospel for the Ancient World. Next, we will see the different core values that made them reject Christ crucified, and how these values, still today, find the crucified Savior offensive. Finally, we will meditate on the glory of the Cross and learn how to rejoice in our Savior.
