Sermon Text: 1 Samuel 19:1-24
Theme: When Saul’s desperation to kill David became greater, so did the Lord’s display of the protection that He wielded over His anointed, so that nothing could destroy the one whom He was with.
Structure/points: At first, Saul’s attempts to eliminate David as a rival for the throne were secretive. But after God continually foiled his plans, Saul eventually stopped being subtle. He went for a full-on offensive to kill his enemy. But we will see that even THIS failed to get him what he wanted because the Lord was an impenetrable fortress for David. God protected David, and that meant Saul couldn’t destroy him. In 1 Sam. 19, we see that…
- God protected David through Jonathan
- God protected David through Michal
- God protected David on His Own
