Sermon Text: Galatians 3:1-9
Theme: When Christians neglect the truth of their salvation in Christ, they must remember that it is only those who hear the gospel with faith who receive the blessings promised to the sons of Abraham, apart from the works of the law.
Structure/points: Over the last few weeks, we’ve been blessed to read Paul’s declaration of the gospel which saves men and women and be reminded of our justification and union with Jesus. But we must remember that Galatians was written to people who were turning away from the good news. The truths of Christianity were being denied within the Church. Paul loved the Galatians like they were his own children, but he was greatly disturbed by their embrace of false teaching and works righteous. He saw that to get through to them, he needed to bring them back to the basics. They needed to remember truths they had nearly forgotten before it was too late to for them to be redeemed.
- How had the Galatians received the Holy Spirit?
- How had the Galatians become sons of Abraham?
