Sermon Text: Titus 1:5-6
Theme: Those who would be chosen to rule in Christ’s Church must be men whose home lives clearly demonstrate their spiritual blamelessness
Structure/points: There is one head and king of the church, and His name is Jesus. As such, He alone has the right to determine who is qualified to rule in His church and among His people. As such, through Paul, Jesus tells us what qualifies or disqualifies a man for eldership. This Sunday, we will read Titus 1:5-6 and begin to learn about what a man must be or have in order that the church may ordain him as an elder.
- An elder must be above reproach
- An elder must be a one-woman man
- An elder must rule his household well
